Community : 3 Sisters. The apostolate of this house focuses on education, social, medical and pastoral work.

The sisters here cater to the educational needs of tribal children of the locality.  These children fall well below the poverty line and lead a hand to mouth existence. Education is unheard of.  Our sisters provide them with books, uniforms and one meal a day.  One teacher has been engaged to supervise their studies as the children, who are used to an undirected existence, prefer to go back to this ‘carefree’ life, little realizing the consequences.   Our aim is to provide them with basic education and skills and equip them to lead a decent humane existence. Those who show capability are coached for the local Technical School.

The Sisters also run a Balwadi (a crèche cum kindergarten for younger children).  There are 50 students in all.  Here too, a teacher from the local community is employed and therefore earns a living.  Tailoring classes are held for the Tribal women so that they can earn something for themselves.

Their spiritual, material, social and emotional needs are taken care of.  Stress is laid on character formation, value education, sex education and channeling of talent.  The girls are empowered to be independent and classes like tailoring, cooking, gardening, yoga, etc. are conducted for them.

The majority of the people here are below the poverty line.  They suffer from hunger, malnutrition, starvation leading to premature death.  We need to do much more than we are at present and are open to agencies and all those who wish to fund this project.  Every input helps to bring a little sunshine into these lives.

The Sisters also run two dispensaries.  They visit five villages with mobile clinics, treat patients suffering from various diseases, conduct awareness programmes for village women.   In discharge of their religious functions, the Sisters assist in weekly Masses in the villages and visit homes in the villages to teach prayers, conduct Bible classes and faith sharing sessions.
