“The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed – it is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”
 (Matthew – Ch.
13 Vs. 31 - 32  ).

We are indeed sprung from that mustard seed .  From the smallest of beginnings, we are growing and spreading our branches; providing in them, shelter and succour – a little bit of heaven – to all who come to us.

In the 68 years since we began, the Poor Sisters of Our Lady have established 32 Houses: our apostolate covers schools, junior colleges, nurseries, polytechnic, training centres, homes for the aged, shelters for homeless girls and dispensaries.  In addition, our sisters are sent out as nurses, parish helpers and also as Ministers of the Eucharist to the aged and disabled who live in their own homes.

From India
, a land which was evangelised by European missionaries centuries ago, we now send our missionaries  to Italy, Austria, Netherlands and Africa.  Thus we are coming full circle : fulfilling the promise of a universal church and adding, in some measure, our contribution to the ever growing pool of grace.

There are many fragrant flowers in God’s garden and they blossom through their given
charism. We look for those who would share these gifts with us so that we can continue to grow in His love and service.
